One background stamp, two cards


Hello, and welcome to my blog. 

I finally got my hands on Simon Says Stamp Floral Mix background stamp! It was in the mail when I got back from visiting family and it's amazing. I made two cards with it and below you'll see how it went 😃

Card #1 - coloring with watercolor pencils

Frist I stamped the image on regular Neenah White cardstock. I know it would be better to do it on watercolor paper, but it's what I chose and I have used watercolor on regular cardstock before and it works fine 😊 But of course, nothing beats watercolors on watercolor paper. 


Then I just used an oval die to cut out a piece.


This is the pencils I used, nothing expensive, bought them from an online store here in Norway called Adlibris. 


I felt I needed a background and I decided to use this stencil from Simon Says stamp with Distress Oxide Picked Raspberry on light pink cardstock. 


Time to put the card together. I needed one more thing so I used an oval die that's one size bigger than the colored oval and cut it out of shimmery vellum.


So this is how this turned out! The sentiment is one I had laying around from some time ago when I heat embossed a bunch of sentiments. 


So that was one card, onto the next! 

Card #2 - coloring with watercolors

Again I used regular Neenah White cardstock. The watercolors are from Faber-Castell.


Finished coloring and as you can see I went for purple with a dash of pink 😊


The finished card! I trimmed down the colored panel to be an inch sorter on all the sides and used foam tape to have some dimension. The sentiment is from Altenew's Ruffled Flowers stamp set. Put some gems on this one 😊

Hello and welcome to my blog!  This card was fun to make, a lot of coloring and fussy cutting and ink blending. I came up with an idea while at work and I sketched the design out. It's almost like the design I had planned. Almost 🤣 Even though it's just a sketch you can see I can't draw... What looks like weird clothes hangers are supposed to represent mermaids and the weird S-shape under the water is a sea horse... So glad I have stamps!! 😂  I started with stamping out all the stamps so I could color them. My plan was to use every piece and every mermaid on my card.  My second plan was to have the mermaids in rainbow colors so I started at the top and worked my way down in the order of the rainbow.  And since I don't have any dies for these I fussy cut out all the pieces...  At this point my idea from the sketch went out the door. Watercoloring with Distress Oxide inks

Hello! This will be my very first real blog post and I have no idea how it will go.  Today it's Norway's Constitution Day and I spent it doing what I love the most, making cards!  So here is the result of that 😊 This is what I started with. I stamped the flowers with Distress Oxide Tattered Rose and the leaves with Cracked Pistachio. I used Altenew's Wallpaper Art stamp set.  I'm no expert in coloring, definetly not with watercoloring, but I have to say, I have improved! At least I think so myself.  This is all the colors i used and yes, I used them all! 😂 And as you can see, a regular Distress Ink was used since I don't have Forest Moss in Oxide.  This is the products I used, as I said Altenew's Wallpaper Art stamp set, Pretty Pink Posh Thoughtful Greetings stamp set and sequins from Little Things from Lucy's cards (sorry for the glare in the plastic). By the way, totally forgot to place Tonic Studio Nuvo Glitter Drops in Gold...

It's pink!

A new day, a new card and a new post 😃  I'm going on a little holiday tomorrow so I will be gone from my inks and stamps and papers for 6 days! I'll miss them like crazy 😂 I've had this idea for a card project in my head for some days now and I'm not one to write down ideas when they arrive so today I just had to do it before I forgot it.  This is my Gina/Rina-combo card!  Rina Krupsky, the daughter of Gina K, posted a video on YouTube a couple of weeks ago where she made aged wood background using a mini ink cube. I thought that looked easy, but didn't try it out until today. It is easy, but getting it straight was another thing...😂  First I cut a 1 inch strip from some cardstock and lined it up with my white panel. Then I just dragged the ink pad onto the cardstock as I moved the strip.  This is the result when the dragging was done.
