A butterfly card

Hello and welcome to my blog! 

This will be one of my entries into Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge where the theme this week is "Make your own background", and I love making backgrounds so this will be perfect for me 😊

So with this card I did an alcohol ink background on Tim Holtz silver sparkle alcohol cardstock. I love how shimmery it gets. 

Colors used:
Dandelion
Flamingo
Turquoise


Finished! 😁 I love how three colors can turn to different colors. I wished I had more purple shades, but I think it turned out great. You can't go wrong with alcohol inks!

The background isn't done guite yet. I thought I would use a stencil and translucent embossing paste from Dreamveaver as texture. The stencil is Sunburst from Altenew. 


Btw, love my Make Art Stay-TION from Wendy Vecchi! It's fantastic! 

 The paste goes on white but dries clear and the effect is great. 


And this is what I ended up with 😊 I used the big butterfly stamp from Butterfly Love Turnabout stamp set fra Concord & 9th and heat embossed it with gold on vellum. And a sentiment from Simple Strips Background stamp from Taylored Expression. I love that stamp set, so many great sentiments to choose from. 
I glued the butterfly on with foam adhesive to pop it more up. 


So this is what i came up with and I'm very pleased with the results 😚

    Wow! This background is AMAZING! I am so impressed with the techniques that you used. It is really a feast for the eyes and I liked all of the color-blending you did, too. It is stunning and I'm so glad you shared your project and creative process with us for this week's Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge!

Watercoloring with Distress Oxide inks

Hello! This will be my very first real blog post and I have no idea how it will go.  Today it's Norway's Constitution Day and I spent it doing what I love the most, making cards!  So here is the result of that 😊 This is what I started with. I stamped the flowers with Distress Oxide Tattered Rose and the leaves with Cracked Pistachio. I used Altenew's Wallpaper Art stamp set.  I'm no expert in coloring, definetly not with watercoloring, but I have to say, I have improved! At least I think so myself.  This is all the colors i used and yes, I used them all! 😂 And as you can see, a regular Distress Ink was used since I don't have Forest Moss in Oxide.  This is the products I used, as I said Altenew's Wallpaper Art stamp set, Pretty Pink Posh Thoughtful Greetings stamp set and sequins from Little Things from Lucy's cards (sorry for the glare in the plastic). By the way, totally forgot to place Tonic Studio Nuvo Glitter Drops in Gold

It's pink!

A new day, a new card and a new post 😃  I'm going on a little holiday tomorrow so I will be gone from my inks and stamps and papers for 6 days! I'll miss them like crazy 😂 I've had this idea for a card project in my head for some days now and I'm not one to write down ideas when they arrive so today I just had to do it before I forgot it.  This is my Gina/Rina-combo card!  Rina Krupsky, the daughter of Gina K, posted a video on YouTube a couple of weeks ago where she made aged wood background using a mini ink cube. I thought that looked easy, but didn't try it out until today. It is easy, but getting it straight was another thing...😂  First I cut a 1 inch strip from some cardstock and lined it up with my white panel. Then I just dragged the ink pad onto the cardstock as I moved the strip.  This is the result when the dragging was done. I love this ocean

Hello and welcome to my blog!  This card was fun to make, a lot of coloring and fussy cutting and ink blending. I came up with an idea while at work and I sketched the design out. It's almost like the design I had planned. Almost 🤣 Even though it's just a sketch you can see I can't draw... What looks like weird clothes hangers are supposed to represent mermaids and the weird S-shape under the water is a sea horse... So glad I have stamps!! 😂  I started with stamping out all the stamps so I could color them. My plan was to use every piece and every mermaid on my card.  My second plan was to have the mermaids in rainbow colors so I started at the top and worked my way down in the order of the rainbow.  And since I don't have any dies for these I fussy cut out all the pieces...  At this point my idea from the sketch went out the door. I decided to do an underwater scene instead of and under and over the sea scene. So to make t
